I grew up in West-Germany. As a young teenager, I got invited to almost all the private party, because I had a wide collection of pop music I had accumulated over years. While my teenage buddies were listening to late 70s Pop and Rock, mainly mainstream music, I was developing step by step into a soul-discomusic lover. Compared to my German friends, I was really different because I was the only DJ at private partys who presented 7“ inch records, for example by Kool & The Gang, Earth Wind & Fire, Funkadelic, The Whispers, Sister Sledge, Chic, Crown Heights Affair etc. So, Soul-Funk music turned out to be “my thang.”

In 1979 at the age of 15, I started my official dj career. Winning a DJ contest early on gave me the platform to show my talent and present great soulful-funky-music.

In 1981, I earned my first major job as a resident DJ at a very special German Soul & Funk-Club “The Soul Center” in Mönchengladbach, Germany. This Club has been haunted by mainly African-American US soldiers coming from all over Germany. There were also Jamaicans from the British forces, African students from the local college, Dutch guest who were originally from Suriname, plus Germans from the local region. Back in the days this club has was known as one of the top 5 clubs in Germany that presented Soul-Funk-Hip Hop-Reggae-Music.
This has been the basic foundation for my DJ career. Resident-status at several top German clubs did follow, as well as many national and international bookings worldwide from Cologne/Germany to San Francisco/USA.
Great knowledge of music, clean mixing and US -american style micro-announcements have been my trademark ever since.
